Akira Himekawa (Japanese: 姫川 明, Himekawa Akira) is a pen name of a duo of female manga artists.

Biography[]

The manga duo made their debut in 1983 on Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Big Comic magazine. The two are individually pen named A Honda (Japanese: 本田 A, Honda Ee) and S Nagano (Japanese: 長野 S, Nagano Esu). During the days of making original doujinshis, they were previously individually pen named Akira Karitaka (Japanese: 狩鷹 明, Karitaka Akira) and Nui Ono (Japanese: 小野 ぬい, Ono Nui).

Throughout their career, there has been numerous variations of their pen name depending on works. For original works not based on any existing properties, the duo use the pen name Akira Himekawa (Japanese: 姫川 明輝, Himekawa Akira). They sometimes use other variations of their pen name such as ひめかわ 明 (Used during serialization of Mini 4 Kids), 姫川 AKIRA and also the English words Akira Himekawa.

The duo is best known for the numerous manga adaptations of The Legend of Zelda games, since it started serialized on numerous magazine and website in 1999.
