The Astute Open Top (Japanese: アスチュートオープントップ, Asuchūto Ōpun Toppu) is a limited-edition Mini 4WD car released by Tamiya on July 16, 2011. It is a version of the Astute Jr. that has its canopy cut open and a driver model on it.
Tamiya would later reuse this Astute bodyshell for other collaboration models such as Mini 4WD Kumamon Version.
General info[]
The Astute Open Top has a black bodyshell with the canopy piece cut out and in its place is a driver figurine that is attached to the battery clip. It is colored in black with few Tamiya-related decals.
Unlike other Mini 4WD cars, it comes with the treaded, high-profile small diameter tires molded in black. It also comes with black small-diameter 3-spoke Fully Cowled-type wheels. The chassis frame and A parts were molded in black and red respectively.
