The Avante X (Japanese: アバンテ X, Abante Ekkusu) is a Mini 4WD PRO car released by Tamiya on December 23, 2006. It was the upgraded version of the Avante Mk.II.

It was featured in web manga Kichijouji Phoenix and manga Mini 4WD Racer Kakeru as Kakeru Ohtori's second machine, replacing his busted Avante Mk.II. It was later superseded by the Avante Mk.III Azure.

General info

The bodyshell is the same as the Avante Mk.II, but with the white base color and the different, flame-styled decals with blue highlight and red trims. The faux-air intakes and the front spoilers were colored in gold. There's a red 'X' mark on the front nose, an 'Avante X' decal on the rear spoiler and the Tamiya logos on the winglets.

Unlike other Mini 4WD cars, the bodyshell of Avante X was made of polycarbonate-mixed ABS plastic, which is durable than the regular ABS plastic.

It was equipped with the neon-green, large-diameter 3-spoke MS-type I wheels paired with the black Avante-type tires. It comes with the N-02 and T-01 units for its MS Chassis. It comes with the standard, light gray 16 mm lightweight plastic rollers. The nose, center and tail and the A parts were molded in black.

However, it should be noted that the pre-assembled finished model came equipped with the N-01 unit and white wheels instead.

Clear Orange Special

The Clear Orange Special, which was released alongside Avante Mk.III Clear Blue Special in 2010, featuring the clear orange bodyshell. Unlike the standard Avante X, the Clear Orange Special's bodyshell was made in normal ABS plastic.

It comes with the white, large-diameter 3-spoke MS-type I wheels paired with orange Avante-type tires. The nose, center and tail and the A parts were molded in white.
