The Boomerang Gamma Black Special (Japanese: ブーメランガンマ ブラックスペシャル, Būmeran Ganma Burakku Supesharu), also known as Boomerang Gamma in the manga, is a Super Mini 4WD car released by Tamiya on November 28, 1995.
It was featured in the manga Dash Boy! Ten as Rei Ganma's second machine, modified from his Black Boomerang. It was replaced by the Ray Hawk-Gamma in two of the manga's storylines.
General info
The Boomerang Gamma is essentially a Boomerang-10 with few design changes: The bodyshell color was changed from white to black, the vertical fins were replaced by a rear spoiler and the blocky front nose headlamps were replaced by the semi-cup-type headlamps. The yellow color on the bodyshell has the darker toon compare to the Boomerang-10.
It was the only Super Mini 4WD car to have the yellow, large-diameter 3-spoke lightweight wheels equipped, which were paired with the Avante-type slick tires. The subparts and the curve-type side-guard were molded in smoke clear and green respectively. It doesn't come with a standard motor.
The Boomerang Gamma also came with the much smaller version of the car, whose chassis can be swapped with Tamiya's MiniMini Racer's chassis. (although it has no use in Mini 4WD races whatsoever.)

In all versions of the manga's storylines, Rei modified his Black Boomerang into the Boomerang Gamma. Compare to Ten's Boomerang-10, the Gamma has better cornering performance thanks to its rear spoiler. It was implies that Rei has cloned multlple of them in case the current one was destroyed. Rei's sister, Shoko, had borrowed the car once.
In Ten 3-2, Rei had once modified the Gamma into the Boomerang Gamma Kai, which is similar to the Black Boomerang, but was later revert back to the normal Gamma.
Unfortunately, the Gamma got destroyed at some point of the manga's run, with one of the stories where the Gamma got sliced in half by Seki Taiga's Shadow Boomerang. Two of the stories had it replaced by the Ray Hawk-Gamma.
