The Braun Tyrrell Honda 020 (Japanese: ブラウン ティレル ホンダ020, Buraun Tireru Honda Marunimaru) is a Mini-F car released by Tamiya in 1992.

It was based on the Tyrrell 020 Formula One car that was used in the 1991 Formula One World Championship season.

General info[]

While it shares the same low-height, open-wheel body design with the other Mini-F cars, the 020 has the raised noise. The bodyshell has the non-removable driver figurine.

It was mainly in white with black highlights. Various sponsors, including PIAA, Braun, Epson, Essilor, Nippon Shinpan, Shell (the fuel supplier for that year) and Honda (the engine supplier), can be found on the bodyshell.

It was equipped with the gun metal, medium diameter Mini-F wheels paired with the Mini-F slick tires.

About the Tyrrell 020[]

The Tyrrell 020, debuted at the end of the 1990 season, is the minor developed version of the 019 and as such, it retains its signature raised nose design.

The 020 has the carbon fiber monocoque that was supported by the 4-wheel independent double wishbones suspensions with pullrod coil spring dampers. The car has its rear end modified to accommodate a more powerful 3.5 liter Honda RA101E natural-aspirated V10 engine, and the engine was mated to a Hewland-sourced 6-speed sequential gearbox.

The 020 would be later upgraded into 020B for the 1992 season, with the Honda engine being swapped out for the Ilmor LH10 V10 engine.
