The Ceramic Greases (Japanese: セラミックグリス, Seramikku Gurisu) are a series of greases released by Tamiya since 1986. Although most releases of ceramic greases are meant for R/C vehicle, they can be used for Mini 4WD cars.
General info[]
As its name implies, the ceramic grease contains the hexagonal boron nitride ceramics. This particle is what allowed the ceramic grease to lubricates the parts while protects them. The performance of the ceramic greases is above that of the normal, kit-supplied grease.
However, earlier ceramic greases were known to increases its friction force as the parts moves faster. This is due to the inconsistent, mismatched sizes between the boron nitride ceramics in the grease. The Cera-Grease HG, released on January 18, 2009, solves this issue by having the high-grade boron nitride ceramics which have consistent size with each others.
It should be noted that the ceramic greases are sensitive to temperature changes; In cold temperature, the ceramic grease will become dry and stiff, making application to gears a bit harder.
Only a tiny amount of ceramic grease is needed to apply to a single gear.
