The Chevrolet Pickup 4x4 (シボレー・ピックアップ) is a Original Mini 4WD car released by Tamiya in July 1982.

It was released alongside Ford Ranger 4x4 Pickup in the same date.

It was based on the 2nd generation Chervrolet K5 Blazer pickup truck that was produced from 1973 to 1991.

General info

The Chevrolet Pickup has the 4x4 pickup body design, with the rectangle-shaped, mesh-styled air intake with headlamps on the front and the rectangle-shaped signal lamps on the rear. There's the flareside around the rear wheels and the black-colored bullbar that is attached to the silver-colored front bumper, complete with the additional square-shaped headlamps.

It has several manufacturer and OEM decals on the bodyshell, such as Goodyear.  It is mainly in red, with orange and white highlights on it.

It comes with the pickup-1 wheels with block-style tires.

About the real-life vehicle the Mini 4WD car is based on

The 2nd generation of Chevrolet K5 Blazer, which supersedes the first generation model, was produced by Chevrolet and General Motors from 1973 to 1991. The K5 was also rebadged as GMC Jimmy in 1990.

The new K5 Blazer was powered by the 4.1 liter and 4.8 liter Chevrolet-sourced straight-6 engines and the 5.0 liter, 5.7 liter and 6.6 liter Chevrolet-sourced small-block V8 engines for the petrol models and 6.2 liter Detroit Diesel V8 engine for the diesel models. It has the 2-wheel-drive models and 4-wheel-drive models. The engines were mated to either the Muncie-sourced 4-speed manual transmission, both Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmissions and a Turbo-Hydramatic 4-speed automatic transmission.

The second generation K5 Blazer has the half-cab design, which allows user to remove the rear cab.
