The Neo Burning Sun is retains the very same tank-inspired body design, with the few key differences. The body color was changed fron green to orange and a flat rear spoiler was added to the rear, as well as holes that were made to fit the FM Chassis without any problem.
The CoroCoro Dragon logo was moved from the front to the rear sides of the bodyshell.
It is equipped with the 6-spoke large-diameter wheels with flat tires. It also comes with the optional bowl rollers.
In the manga
In order to find out about the secret behind the superior performance of Momotaro's Crimson Glory, Tankuro modified his Dash-2 Burning Sun into the FM machine, but in doing so he has to scraps the Horizon lineage completely from machine, and forcing him to leave the Dash Warriors. This led to Shinkuro, one of the Dash Warriors members, showing his mistrust toward Tankuro.
However, Tankuro was later convinced by Yonkuro (who used his Emperor to deliver a mail to him) to re-joins the team. He come back during the national championship final and use his Neo Burning Sun into the race.
During the final section of the race, Punkuro gave the Condenser Circuit to Tankuro, who then use it on the battle between him and Momotaro. Its motor was then exploded, totaled the car. However the now-broken Neo Burning Sun was used as a jump stand for Yonkuro's Great Emperor, leading to the ultimate victory for the Dash Warriors in the national tournament.
Tankuro later exchanged his Neo Burning Sun with Kenta's Wild Zaurus, from then on Kenta uses the Neo Burning Sun during the Black Mistral arc.
