In the manga and anime
In Dash! Yonkuro, it replaces the Falcon Jr. as Punkuro's primary machine throughout the original series. The Cannonball has the higher acceleration performance compare to the others.
The car has the special device known as the Condenser Circuit (コンデンサー回路), in which when in use, it sending the large amount of electricity to the motor, causing immediate massive increase in acceleration performance.
However, it was a major weakness: since the Condenser Circuit send the massive amount of electricity to the motor, the motor will explode after use, totaled the car in the process. Punkuro will only use it while he is prepared for such.
Punkuro later give the Condenser Circuit to Dankuro for his Neo Burning Sun before the final race in the National Mini 4WD Championship is begin.

Trivia
- The Dash-4 Cannonball's design is based on the 3rd-generation of Chevrolet Corvette sports cars.
- As shown in Dear Zaurus Tokuda, it is because Tokuda likes sports cars and owns some of them.
- During the serialization of Dash! Yonkuro on CoroCoro Comic magazine, the Cannonball, along with Dash-5 Dancing Doll, weren't offcially named and their design hasn't finalized when they debut. Those were corrected in the tankoubon version of the manga.
