The FA-130 Motors (Japanese: FA-130モーター, FA-130 Mōtā), commonly known as the Normal Motors (Japanese: ノーマルモーター, Nōmaru Mōtā), are a series of Mini 4WD motors released by Tamiya since the introduction of the Mini 4WD series.

The single-shaft FA-130 Motor was included in most Mini 4WD car kits, while the double-shaft FA-130 motor was only included in all Mini 4WD PRO car kits. Tamiya would later made the single-shaft motor available as a standalone AO (Afterservice Original) parts release in September 2011.

General info Edit

It was known that there are three known manufacturers that are making the single-shaft normal motor for Tamiya: Mabuchi Motor, S.T.D Motor and SMC Motor. Only Mabuchi Motor has manufactures the normal double-shaft motor.

Formerly, Mabuchi Motor's normal motors (Specifically, during the eariler Racing Mini 4WD days.) sports the milk-colored endbell cap and metallic yellow metal housing. Current Mabuchi Motor's motors were instead has the stainless silver metal housing. Both single and double-shaft motors from Mabuchi Motor used the copper brushes.

During the second Mini 4WD phenomenon and the Dangun Racer era in Japan, the kit-included blue-capped motor was manufactured by both Mabuchi Motor, S.T.D Motor and SMC Motor. Just like the Mabuchi Motor's, the S.T.D Motor's and the SMC Motor's used the copper brushes.

The black-capped normal motor, manufactured exclusively by SMC Motor, was only included in the R/C Mini 4WD car kits. Unlike the previous two motor manufacturers' motors, SMC Motor's normal motor has the carbon brushes instead of the copper brushes, prolonging the running life of the motor.

Performance-wise, the normal motor is the weakest Mini 4WD motor and is usually used for chassis break-ins.
