The Dual Ridge Junior (Japanese: デュアルリッジJr., De~yuaru Rijji Junia) is a Racing Mini 4WD car released by Tamiya on August 29, 2020.

It was based on the 1/10 R/C buggy Dual Ridge by the same company.

General info

The Dual Ridge featuring the futuristic, open-wheel buggy bodyshell, with a large, curved 3-window cockpit on the front and a large sharp rear spoiler on the rear. Four damper props can be found near the wheels.

For the Mini 4WD version of Dual Ridge, 6 small hole has been opened on the bodyshell, located where the motor is. This helps dissipates heat from the motor and batteries.

Standard variant

The standard variant featuring the silver body color with blue highlights.

It was equipped with the silver plated, small diameter 5-spoke Saber-type wheels paired with, for the first time in a regular Mini 4WD kit, the black super-hard low-profile slick tires. The chassis frame and A parts were molded in black.

Japan Cup 2021 variant

Just like the previous Japan Cup car, the annual Japan Cup 2021 variant of Dual Ridge features the polycarbonate bodyshell with plastic mounting.

It was equipped with the blue, small diameter low-profile A-spoke wheels paired with the black super-hard low-profile slick tires. The chassis frame and A parts were molded in dark blue.

About the 1/10 R/C Buggy the Mini 4WD car is based on

The Dual Ridge, based upon the TT-02B Chassis, was released on October 1, 2014. Its polycarbonate bodyshell was designed by Takayuki Yamazaki of pdc_designworks, who would later go on to design the DCR-01, DCR-02 and oversees the design of the Dual Ridge Jr.

The TT-02B is a modified version of the on-road-focused, shaft-driven TT-02, modified to be used in R/C buggies. Wheel tracks has been widened thanks to its longer double-wishbone arms, and is equipped with the new damper mounts and longer CVA dampers. It comes with the dust covers for the ESC and standard buggy wheels and tires by default. Due to the TT-02 series chassis being a versatile platform, many hop-up parts designed for TT-02 cars are compatible with the TT-02B.
