The Strato Vector (Japanese: ストラトベクター, Sutorato Bekutā) is a Super Mini 4WD car released by Tamiya on July 16, 1996. It was the one and only FM machine in the Super Mini 4WD lineup.

It was featured in the manga Dash Boy! Ten as Souichiro Iota's machine.

General info[]

The Strato Vector featuring the open-wheel body design, with the front wheel guards protruded from the side cowls and a pair of rear wide fins sandwiched the silver-colored canopy. The rear arch parts, which covers the rear bodycatch, can be removed. There's the air-intakes on the front to dissipate heats from the motor. The 'Strato Vector' decals and the 'Iota J' decals can be found on the bodyshell.

Standard variant[]

The standard Strato Vector features blue body color, with white and red stripes on it.

It was equipped with the yellow, large diameter 6-spoke Manta Ray-type wheels paired with Avante-type slick tires. The chassis frame and A parts were molded in deep green. It doesn't come with a standard motor.

A variant of the standard model, which comes with the 13mm roller ball bearings, was released in 2012.

Lil's Hobby Center Limited[]

The Lil's Hobby Center-exclusive model, which was released in Philippines, features the clear blue bodyshell and special decals.

It was equipped with the silver-plated, large diameter 6-spoke Manta Ray-type wheels paired with the clear, soft-compound Avante-type slick tires. The chassis frame and A parts were molded in white. It doesn't come with a standard motor.

Dash Boy! Ten[]

The Strato Vector has the unique aerodynamic design and has super-low center-of-gravity chassis design. Not only it was fast on cornering, but it was also fast on off-road surfaces. According to Iota, the machine's design was completed after few millions times of Mini 4WD simulations via the computer.
