The Isuzu VehiCROSS Team GEOLANDAR Baja 1000 (Japanese: いすゞ ビークロス チームジオランダー バハ1000仕様, Isuzu Bīkurosu Chīmu Jiorandā Baha Issen Shiyō) is a Wild Mini 4WD car released by Tamiya in June 1999.
It was based on Team GEOLANDAR's modified Isuzu VehiCROSS that was used in the 1997 Baja 1000 season.
General[]
The bodyshell is a recolored version of the regular VehiCROSS bodyshell from the Original Mini 4WD series, now in red orange color. It has the white and orange stripes. Various sponsor logos can be found on the bodyshell, including Yokohama (the manufacturer of the off-road tires bearing the GEOLANDAR name), PIAA, Project Mu, K&N, 76 and Shoei.
It was equipped with the standard wild-type wheels with monster truck tires.
About Team Geolandar's Isuzu VehiCROSS[]
The modified Isuzu VehiCROSS, modified from the road-legal car, is Team GEOLANDAR's car for the Baja 1000. The car is for the Class 3I category race.
The modified car had its suspensions, wheels and tires upgraded to make the car withstands the harsh road condition of the Baja California Peninsula. It was equipped with Yokohama's GEOLANDAR A/T tires (size is LT 235/85R16 120Q). Driver Ikuo Hanawa and co-driver Matt Ford drive the car in the 1997 season.
