The Juggernaut Junior (Ford F-330) (Japanese: ジャガノート Jr. (フォードF-350), Jaganōto Junia (Fōdo Efu-350)) is a Wild Mini 4WD car released by Tamiya in March 1999.

It was based on Tamiya's 1/10 R/C monster truck Juggernaut, which in turns based on the single cab variant of the 1st-generation Ford Super Duty pickup truck.

General info[]

The Juggernaut features the typical, single cab pickup truck body design. On the front, there's the square-jawed front ends, raised hoods and aggressive-styled headlamps. On the truck bed, there's the back roll bars with headlamps attached.

It was in the black body color, with silver bumpers, red and yellow stripes and the rock-styled decals on it.

It was equipped with the standard wild-type wheels with monster truck tires.

About the 1/10 R/C monster truck Juggernaut[]

Released in March 29, 1999, the Juggernaut is Tamiya's electric R/C monster truck.

The chassis, dubbed the Juggernaut chassis, features the ladder frame design with both plastic and metal parts. It was supported with the solid axle multi-trailing-arms suspensions on both front and rear, with leaf springs and 2 pairs of friction dampers on each wheels. It was powered by two 540-sized motors, mounted to a center gearbox and housed at the middle of the chassis frame. It also features the four-wheel steering mechanism via multiple linkage to a servo. Due to the primary battery powering two motors at once, an additional pair of AA batteries are needed to powering the transmitter.

The original Juggernaut is not without its issues; Shortly after it was released, it was revealed that it has design flaws on the center gearbox and the axle gearboxes, in which causes the gear teeth (particularly the bevel gears in the axles) to be stripped under load. Tamiya would immediately pull the Juggernaut out from the market, and released the Juggernaut 2 on March 22, 2000 with redesigned center and axles gearboxes to solve the issues the original Juggernaut suffered.
