The Max Suprise Circuit Remix 2021 (Japanese: MAX サプライズサーキット リミックス2021, Makkusu Sapuraisu Sākitto Rimikkusu 2021) is a series of Mini 4WD circuits built by Tamiya for the 2021 season of Tamiya Japan Cup. It is the modified version of last year's Max Surprise Circuit 2020.
General info[]
Being based on last year's circuit, the Remix circuit has sections that has swapped around. Just like Max Surprise Circuit 2020, the difference between layouts (Now called 'Yokohama Tire Surprise Road' instead of 'Bypass') is the Yokohama Tire Surprise Road section, which changes every race stages.
- Right after the start line, the cars must pass through the Yokohama Tire Surprise Road section, the circuit's main feature where the road is split into one 2-lane track and one 3-lane track. There are five variants of the section:
- In Surprise Road-1, the track is split in two using the slight S-curves on each, then go through the long straights, before merging back into one track. The 2-lane track has two lane-changers instead os straight.
- In Surprise Road-2, lanes allocated were swapped, with the 2-lanes on the left side and 3-lanes on the right side. The left 2 lanes must go through a straight, a right curve, a left U-turn, a right curve and a straight, while the right 3 lanes has to pass through the straight with slops. The lanes then merging back into one track.
- In Surprise Road-3, the left 3 lanes has to go through a straight, a curve, a long straight with tabletop, a left U-turn, a long straight with tabletop, a right curve, a straight and a S-curve, while the right 2 lanes has to pass though the long straigh under the left 3 lanes.
- In Surprise Road-4, lanes allocated were swapped, with the 2-lanes on the left side and 3-lanes on the right side. The left 2 lanes has to go through a straight with two lane-changers, while the right 3 lanes has to go through a right curve, 2 straights, a left U-turn, a right curve, a long straight and a S-curve before merging back into one track.
- In Surprise Road-5, the left 3 lanes has to go through a short straight, a right curve, a upper slope, a combination of a short straight/left curve/short straight/left curve, a downslope, a short straight, a right curve and a long straight, while the right 2 lanes has to go through a mix of straights and curves placed under the left 3 lane.
- Following the Surprise Road is the Glide Bank 20 section, where there's a slight 20 degree bank consist of 2 left curves and a long straight, followed by an New-Era U-turn.
- After that, the cars has to pass through the combination of the VQS Mountain section and the Musasabi Changer section, a unique lane changer where car in one lane has to jump over to other lane. This lane changer test the car's speed and stability, as one wrong move could cause the car to run in reverse or even fly off the track.
- Following the changer is the right Slash Bank section, in which individual lane were tilted at 30 degree right and the left fences were heighted. This section will forcefully makes the cars to run on the fences, and if the car is too long or having too much brake, the car could slows down during the Slash Bank section and flips over.
- After passing through a left U-turn, a right curve, a long straight and a right curve, the start line will be crossed.
Just like the 2020 season, the 2021 season had been hindered by the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, and in the end, only 8 stages were held between August 1, 2021 to April 23, 2022.
