About the Mercedes-Benz Unimog 406[]
Introduced by 1963, the Unimog 406 is a car in the Unimog-series trucks produced by Daimer AG.

The portal axles has the reduction gears built-in, allowing the car to have good ground clearance even with small wheels. The chassis is supported by the coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers. Just like the rest of the Unimog series, it has the hydraulic system built-in for add-ons.
Powering the 406 are the series of Mercedes-Benz OM natural-aspirated straight-six diesel engines, and are mated to variety of manual gearboxes depends on applications.
Providing the braking power are the pneumatic-hydraulic servo drum brakes on all four wheels, and later replaced by the disc brake in 1973.
The productions of the 406 series later ended in 1989.
