The PowerChamp GR (Japanese: パワーチャンプGR, Pawāchanpu Jīāru) is a alkaline battery produced by FDK Corporation, the subsidiary company of Fujitsu and released by Tamiya on December 11, 2001. It was the 5th-generation PowerChamp battery and was introduced during the Dangun Racer era.

The PowerChamp GR was later superseded by the PowerChamp GX.

General info[]

The exterior of the PowerChamp GR features the two-tone black/gold, with the large golden 'GR' label placed next to the 'PowerChamp' label and the Tamiya label. The limited edition of the GR, known as the GR2, instead has the artwork of the Dangun Racer Wing-Vulcan from the manga Dangun Wolf by Tetsuhiro Koshita.

As usual for a new PowerChamp battery, it features the increased discharge-rate and endurance compare to the PowerChamp SP. Despite the packaging differences, both the GR and GR2 are essentially the same batteries.
