The PowerChamp SP (Japanese: パワーチャンプSP, Pawāchanpu Esupī) is a alkaline battery produced by FDK Corporation, the subsidiary company of Fujitsu and released by Tamiya on May 26, 1999. It was the 4th-generation PowerChamp battery and was introduced during the dawn of the 2nd Mini 4WD phenomenon.
It was later superseded by the PowerChamp GR.
The exterior of the PowerChamp SP is mostly the same as that of PowerChamp Gold, with some differences: It has the white 'PowerChamp' with the large, red 'SP' placed next to it.
As usual for a new PowerChamp battery, it features the increased discharge-rate and endurance compare to its predecessor. Unlike the Gold, the SP doesn't features the gold-plated terminals.
