The Roborace Devbot 2.0 (Japanese: ロボレース デボット2.0, Roborēsu Debotto Ni-ten-zero) is a Mini 4WD PRO car released by Tamiya in 2020.

It is based on the autonomous electric racecar of the same name. Specifically, the one that the University of Pisa racing team used in the first Season Alpha racing season held in 2019.

General info

The Devbot features the low-height, LMP-inspired race car body design, with the low-height bonnet on the front and large rear spoiler on the rear.

Standard variant

The standard variant features the black body color, with yellow, orange, red and cyan stripes on it, with various decals ('Roborace' and 'Season Alpha') on it and the car number 9 on its nose and winglets.

It was equipped with the black, small diameter low-profile fin-type wheels paired with the black low-profile slick tires. The chassis frame and A parts were molded in black and orange respectively.

About the real-life vehicle the Mini 4WD car is based on

The Devbot 2.0, was unveiled in 2019. Compare to the Roborcar which has futuristic design, the Devbot 2.0's body design is based on that of the Le Mans Prototype race car. It succeeds the first Devbot car.

The main bathtub chassis frame made out of carbon fiber is the same one used in the Ginetta LMP3 cars and the first Devbot car, but now with the proper carbon fiber outer shells equipped. Powering the car is a pair of electric motor at the rear wheels that are capable of produce around 180hp of power and 300N∙m of torque per wheel, for the total of 360hp of power and 600N∙m of torque. The car is runinnig on the 840V battery.

The car was equipped with 6 cameras, 2 radars, 18 ultrasound sensors and 5 lidar sensor, which transmit data to the car's AI running on the Nvidia Drive PX 2 platform.

Unlike the Robocar which has no driver seat, the Devbot 2.0 was built to have a space for human driver. It can switch between non-autonomous mode and autonomous mode.
