The Spin-Axe (Japanese: スピンアックス, Supin Akkusu) is a Fully Cowled Mini 4WD car released by Tamiya on April 25, 1995.

It was featured in the manga and anime Bakusou Kyoudai Let's & Go! as Tokichi Mikuni's machine. It was superseded by the Spin Cobra in the series.

General info[]

The Spin-Axe featuring the smooth body design, with the cowls covering the front and rear wheels, a pair of wheel guard attached to the front and the flat front center panel. It has a pair of 911-ish headlamps and double-fin type spoiler.

The front fender and the wheel guards has to be removed if user wish to install any front bumper parts, except if the Fully Cowled-type AR front plates are used, which requires no modification to the bodyshell.

Standard model[]

The standard Spin-Axe features the blue body color, with yellow/orange thunder-styled decals on it.

It was equipped with the yellow, small diameter fully cowled-type wheel paired with the black high-profile slick tires, and the blue normal-type side guard attachment. The chassis frame and A parts were molded in gray and green respectively. It doesn't comes with a standard motor.

Bakusou Kyoudai Let's & Go![]

The Spin-Axe was made by Professor Tsuchiya as one of the prototype fully cowled machines (along with the Sabers and Tridagger X). It was given to Tokichi Mikuni.

Since Tokichi's family is rich, he customized it with special-made parts, including the special chassis with the spring-attached front roller arms. Using the recoils create by said roller arms, the Spin-Axe is able to initiate its 'Thunder Drift' technique in low-speed technical corners. However said technique cannot be initiated on high-speed corners.

What happened to the Spin-Axe in the anime is unknown as it was superseded by Spin Cobra in the series, although it is implied that Tokichi retired the car after Spin Cobra's body was completed. In the manga, it was upgraded into Spin Cobra by Professor Tsuchiya.

However, it was revealed that Tokichi has keeping the Spin-Axe's body for the decades before it was modified into Spin-Axe Zero by Tokichi himself.[1]
