The Sprint Dash Motor (スプリントダッシュモーター) is the Mini 4WD motor manufactures by SMC Motor and released by Tamiya.

This motor was released during the R/C Mini 4WD era, and it went through 2 revisions since its release.

General info

The Sprint Dash Motor was a speed-focused motor, with the revving performance of 27,200rpm (20,700rpm on load) and the somewhat moderate torque of 19.4g-cm (formerly 14g-cm on the first revision). It has the second highest rev perfomance following the Plasma-Dash Motor and has the same torque characteristic of that of Ultra Dash Motor. It is the 2nd power-hungry motor following the Plasma-Dash Motor and as such, it can't reaches its full potentials while using the normal alkaline batteries.

The first version of the motor, released in 2002, has the white endbell cap and silver metal housing, and uses bronze brushes. The words 'R/C Mini 4WD' was printed on the sticker below the words 'Sprint Dash' and the Tamiya logo.

The later versions uses the carbon brushes which prolonged the motor's running life, and also increased overall performances. Torque performance of the motor has been increased from 14g-cm to 19.4g-cm with this revision. On the sticker, the word 'R/C Mini 4WD' were replaced with the words 'Specially Tuned'.

Due to its low torque, it is recommended to use it on Mini 4WD car with small-diameter wheel and high gear ratio set to archieve optimal performance.
