TR1Chassis

TR-1 Chassis.

The TR-1 Chassis (TR-1シャーシ) is a Mini 4WD chassis released by Tamiya on July 17, 2002. Based on the Super X Chassis, it debuted with the release of Subaru Impreza WRC 2002 and is made exclusively for R/C Mini 4WD series.

General info

The TR-1 has the wheelbase of 94 mm, which is longer than the wheelbase of the Super X Chassis. It retains that same driveshaft length and track lengths of the Super X. The TR-1 uses the 1.4 mm propeller shaft and drivetrain layout of the chassis is the same as Super X Chassis. It use the orange ground gears by default.

One of the unique features of the TR-1 is that it was made with the R/C system in mind, as it allows racers to controls the acceleration of the car. The bodyshell mounting method has been changed to the snap-type and the front bumper's design was changed because of this change.

TR-1 is not without its flaws, however, as existing bodyshells and most Grade-Up Parts are not compatible with the chassis. This leds to the premature demise of the TR-1 and also the R/C Mini 4WD series as the whole.
