About The Fox 1/10 R/C buggy[]
Released in 1985, The Fox is a 1/10 scale, rear-wheel-drive R/C buggy produced by Tamiya.
The Fox's chassis borrows most of the chassis design from the Hotshot; The compact, fully-enclosed monocoque chassis, the transversely-placed battery and the fully independent suspensions with front monoshock and rear independent oil-filled dampers. The 540-size motor was mounted onto the rear and paired to the gearbox, which transfer power to the rear wheels. It was equipped with the front grooved tires and rear block-spike tires.
Due to its chassis being based on the Hotshot's, it also inherited its weakness as well; due to the enclosed chassis frame, it is impossible to access to the internal components without breaking up the frame parts firsthand. Furthermore, the front suspension travel is very short, causing the front supensions to bottom out, which can be a problem on rough track.
In 2013, the updated version of The Fox, known as the Novafox, was released. The updated version featuring the improved mechanics, such as better steering layout and the dog bone driveshafts.
