The Toyota Ipsum L-Selection EX (Japanese: トヨタ イプサム L-セレクション EX, Toyota ipusamu Eru-Serekushon Iiekkusu) is a Original Mini 4WD car released by Tamiya on July 30, 1996.

It was based on the L-Selection EX trim of the first-generation Toyota Ipsum by Toyota.

General info[]

The Ipsum features the compact minivan body design, with the skewed rectangle headlamps on the front and the horizontal rectangle taillamps on the back. It was mainly in metallic grey with silver bottom.

It was equipped with the silver, 3-spoke Ipsum wheels paired with the black RV radial tires. The chassis frame and A parts were molded in black.

About the Toyota Ipsum[]

Unveiled at the 31th Tokyo Motorshow in 1995 and went on sale in May 1996, the first-generation Ipsum is Toyota's compact minivan.

Powering the car is either a 2.0 liter 3S-FE natural-aspirated inline-4 petrol engine or a 2.2 liter 3C-TE turbocharged inline-4 diesel engine. The engine is mated to either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual gearbox, which sends the power to either the front wheels or all four wheels depending on the model trims.

Supporting the car's chassis is the front struts suspension with coil springs and the rear torsion beam with coil springs. Braking power is provided by the front ventilated disc brakes and the rear drum brakes.

The first-generation models were later superseded by the second-generation models in May 2001.
