About the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado[]

Launched in May 1996, the J90 series Land Cruiser Prado is Toyota's SUV truck. It supersedes the first-generation J70 models. It was available in both 3-door short wheelbase and 5-door long wheelbase body configurations.

Powering the car is a series of Toyota engines; On the petrol engines, there's a 2.7 liter 3RZ-FE natural-aspirated inline-4 engine and a 3.4 liter 5VZ-FE natural-aspirated V6 engine, both with DOHC design. On the diesel engines, there's two L-series engines consists of a 2.8 liter engine 3L and 3.0 5L engine (Both are inline-4 and natural-aspirated), as well as other diesel engines consists of a 3.0 liter 1KZ-TE turbocharged inline-4 engine and a 3.0 liter 1KD-FTV turbocharged inline-4 engine. The engine is mated to either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual gearbox, which sends the power to all four wheels through its full-time four-wheel-drive drivetrain.

Supporting the SUV's chassis is the front double-wishbone suspensions and the rear solid axle trailing arms suspension, both with coil springs and stabilizer bars attached. Braking power is provided by the ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels.

The J90 models were later superseded by the J120 in 2002.
