The Type-4 Chassis (Japanese: タイプ4シャーシ, Taipu Fō Shāshi) is a Mini 4WD chassis released by Tamiya in May 1990 with the release of Egress Jr.. It is the updated version of the Type-2 Chassis.
General info[]
Compare to the Type-2, the Type-4 has more holes to reduces its weight, and even the front bumper has received the weight reduction. The battery has been placed 2 mm lower than the Type-2. Other than these, all other aspects are the same as Type-2.
There is one big flaw though: Due to the extensive weight reduction, the chassis became more fragile than the Type-2. As such, it became the least favorite chassis for most racers at that time.
