Wide Plate for AR Chassis

The Wide Plates for AR Chassis (Japanese: ARシャーシ用ワイドステー, AR Shāshi-yō Waido Sutē) is a series of Mini 4WD Grade-up Parts released by Tamiya since August 11, 2012.

They were the series of reinforcing plates, consists of both FRP, CFRP and duralumin materials.

General info[]

The reinforced plates, as their name implies, were specially designed for the latest chassis (Namely the AR Chassis). They were available in various materials and shapes.

They are compatible with the wide range of roller setups, from 9mm to 19mm.

Only the normal FRP plates and the normal 1.5 mm CFRP plates were made available as regular GUP releases, while others are limited or event-exclusive releases.

FRP plates[]

The FRP plates were originally included in the AR Chassis Basic Tune-up Parts Set as part of the set's components, and were made available as standalone Grade-up Parts releases. The front plate and rear plate were sold separately.

The front plate sets includes three 12 mm screws, five truss screws, three small washers, three spring washers, two roller stoppers, three lock nuts and a small rubber tube. The rear plate sets has similar content, but with the 12 mm screws being replaced by the 25 mm long screws, two more roller stoppers, two more small washers and two aluminum spacers.

2 mm CFRP plates[]

The first-iteration of the CFRP plates were shaped differently than the FRP plates by having more curved designs. The front plate and rear plate were sold separately.

The additional content of the 2 mm CFRP plates are somewhat minimal; Only five large washers and five 5 mm screws were included.

1.5 mm CFRP plates[]

The second-iteration of the CFRP plates were shaped much closer to the FRP plates, but with the curved fronts. The front plate and rear plate were sold separately.

The additional content of the 1.5 mm CFRP plates are the same as the FRP plates' ; The front plate sets includes three 12 mm screws, five truss screws, three small washers, three spring washers, two roller stoppers, three lock nuts and a small rubber tube. The rear plate sets has similar content, but with the 12 mm screws being replaced by the 25 mm long screws, two more roller stoppers, two more small washers and two aluminum spacers.

Duralumin plates[]

The front and rear duralumin plates, unlike the fiberglass-based plates, were made available as a set. While the rear plate has the exact shape as the FRP rear plate, the front plate instead has the exact shape as the Fully Cowled Mini 4WD front plate.

Unfortunately, the additional content is very minimal; Only ten truss screws were included.
